Ho'okipa Beach Park is one of the premier windsurfing venues in all the world. It is not far east of the Kahului Airport, which means you can get off the plane and get in the water very quickly.The beach itself is not that large, but it is large enough for the main activity, which is mostly watching the windsurfers, kitesurfers, and surfers. The Ho'okipa Lookout is a small parking lot on a bluff overlooking the beach. It is very popular especially in winter when the 30 foot (and larger) waves slam against the shore.
