Yoga on Keawakapu Beach with Sylvia Whelchel

We thought to ourselves, What better place for a peaceful yoga practice than a beautiful Maui beach? So we put it to the test and the gorgeous results are right here for you to see in our video.

Host Sylvia Whelchel first moved to Maui to pursue her passion for windsurfing. Turns out she is an excellent practitioner of yoga as well! Sylvia guides us through 13 beginning yoga exercises right on the warm sands of Keawakapu Beach, in Kihei, Maui. Be sure to watch the entire video, because she caps these all off with a decidedly NOT beginner exercise, a headstand with leg split. Beautiful and incredible!

Sylvia shows us:

Two versions of Palm Tree

Two versions of Forward Bend

Triangle

Warrior II

Dog and Cat

Downward Dog

The Plank

Pigeon

The Bridge

Samaasthiti

Along with that magical headstand, she shows us her favorite Sylvia Special.

So get down on the floor, or relax in a chair -- up to you -- and join in for some Yoga on the Beach at Keawakapu, Maui.
